Our online real estate appraisal courses are state-approved and certified by the Appraisal Qualification Board (AQB) and International Distance Education Certification Center (IDECC). Every state has different requirements to become an appraiser; however, every state has three basic requirements. In order to practice, an appraiser must attend a certain number of classes, pass a state test, and then get licensed by the state where they wish to work as an appraiser

Which Online Appraisal Course Should I Take?

There are many different online appraisal courses. The following are examples of some of the most popular appraisal courses:

Appraisal Course – Pre License Package

This package meets the full 75-hour education requirement for real estate appraiser license, which includes the 15-hour Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) requirement. The package includes the 60 Hour Qualifying Course for Licensure and the 15 Hour USPAP course. The 60 hour appraisal course focuses on the basic principles and practices of appraisal. The USPAP course will cover the history, purpose and structure, how some terms are defined and used, and the rules of USPAP.

    Appraisal Course – Single Family

The purpose of this course is to provide students with step-by-step, in-depth instructions for preparing the Uniform Residential Appraisal Report (URAR) within the guidelines set by the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) and in compliance with USPAP. Students will be taken through each section of the URAR Report where they identify and complete the required fields. The students will identify sections of the URAR report which include the following sections: Subject Section, Neighborhood Section, PUD Section, Site Section, Description and Improvement Section, Comment Section, Cost Approach Section, Sales Comparison Analysis Section, Indicated Value by Income Approach Section, Reconciliation, and Additional Forms. This appraisal course also includes several case studies for students to work through. The course contains the essential information needed to prepare the licensed and certified appraisers for the FHA appraiser exam.”

Appraisal Course - National USPAP Course Equivalent

This course is appropriate for students who are interested in receiving the mandatory 15-hours of Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practices (USPAP) qualifying education credit. The purpose of this appraisal course is to provide students with knowledge and understanding of USPAP. It covers the history, purpose and structure, how some terms are defined and used, and the rules of USPAP. It also covers the relevant statements and advisory opinions. The required reference material will be provided online which includes; the USPAP 2005 Edition and the National USPAP 15 - Hour Course Student Manual.

Appraisal course - Uniform Residential Appraisal Report (URAR)

This course identifies the two types of appraisals and the three types of appraisal reports. The course will instruct students in detail on how to fill out the Uniform Residential Appraisal Report (URAR). Students will be taken through each section of the URAR where they identify and complete the required fields. This appraisal course provides the student with the guidelines and direction to create URAR reports, which are in compliance with USPAP. Completion of an introductory level "Real Estate Appraisal Principles" course is a prerequisite for this appraisal course.

Online Real Estate Appraisal Courses versus Traditional Classroom Courses?

Online appraisal courses cover the same syllabus as a classroom course. They are carefully designed to give you the full educational experience and provide you the same amount of knowledge. The online appraisal course is simply more convenient than a traditional classroom course because it saves you time and allows you to proceed at your own pace.
