  1. How long does it take to complete the Certified Negotiations course.
  2. The CNE course is a one-day course, but depending on your skill level, can be completed online between 7 to 12 hours depending upon the time that the student spends on the Work Sessions, the Knowledge Checks and in taking the final exam.  Everyone moves at a different pace and students may elect to review any number of sections more than one time. 
    The Negotiations Expertise live seminar version is two full days.

  1. Can I use the CNE designation immediately after completing the course?
  2. Yes, the CNE designation is awarded upon completing the course and passing the final examination.

  1. What will I be able to do after taking the CNE Course?
  2. After you complete our CNE online course you will be able to confidently negotiate superior win-win outcomes for your clients. The CNE designation has been created for you so that you can communicate these new skills to your clients and fellow professionals.

  1. Does this course count for CE?
  2. The online version of the Certified Negotiations Expert course (CNE) does not at this stage provide any CE credits in any state.

  1. Is the CNE Designation NAR approved?
  2. NAR does not currently own the Certified Negotiations Expert (CNE) designation course. Per the NAR Code of Ethics section 12:13 Realtors® may display any designation, certification or other credential to which they are legitimately entitled. 
    RealtyU®, Inc. has been in the real estate education industry since 1994 and has offered, created, presented or certified numerous leading national courses and designations including:

    Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR)
    Certified Seller Representative (CSR)
    Accredited Luxury Homes Specialist(ALHS)
    Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES)
    Accredited Home-Staging Specialist (AHS)
    Certified Short-Sale Professional (CSP)
    Many of these and other courses are delivered online or through the RealtyU network of over 150 locations consisting of proprietary schools and Realtor® Associations.

  1. What additional fees or expenses can I expect?
  2. One year after you have completed the course there may be a membership fee to the Council of Certified Negotiations Experts of $99 per annum. The council provides a variety of services from on-going training, to press releases and marketing information.
    The Negotiations Expert council website also plans on listing all CNE designees by state on a searchable map by July 2009. This effective strategy has already been implemented by two other councils RealtyU manages and is optimized to reach top rankings on search engines such as Google, Yahoo, MSN and AOL.

  1. Do you have to be a licensed real estate agent to earn the designation?
  2. No.  The Certified Negotiations Expert (CNE) course focuses on giving anyone a foundation and solid overview of all the key aspects of Negotiations.  The knowledge you gain will last a lifetime and your skills will become second nature as you put them to work.
